Acting Class Scene
For my "Acting for Everyone" class this semester, it's required to do a lot of acting in front of the class. We have to present 2 monologues and a scene. The monologues are obviously done by yourself, and you have a partner that you present your scene with. My first monologue went really well, and my scene partner and I just presented our scene last Friday. Well, my scene partner, Josh, and I have the exact same personality so it was easy for us to pick out a scene that we both liked. We looked at a bunch of scenes but it was hard to find the right one. The one we eventually picked out is called, "The DMV One." I have to tell you, the scene is absolutely hilarious, but extremely awkward to present in front of the class. In the scene, I'm a woman working at the DMV and Josh is a man coming into renew his licence and registration after moving here from out of state. Well I get in to asking him the most random questions like, "Single?", "Boxers or Briefs?", "We exchange numbers or you ask me out right now?", those kind of questions. Then it goes into "Slow or fast?", "Top or bottom?", and it gets so awkward to yell these questions back and fourth in front of the class, but we did a really good job. Usually our professor will come up and critique us after you're done performing, but she just said we did a really good job and we were the "perfect people to present this scene" and we had a really good understanding about the relationship with the two characters in the scene. SO I was pretty happy with how that turned out! Next, our last monologue, which will be pretty easy so I'm not worried.
